SINGER - SONG WRITER JOSER MARI CHAN RECEIVES A PLAQUE OF HONOR FROM FFCCCII IN RECOGNITION OF HIS OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO PHILIPPINES
Philippines - It is just in time for the Christmas season for Jose Mari Chan.
Jose Mari Chan received the FFCCCII Plaque of Honor from the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) in recognition of his outstanding musical accomplishments, significant contributions to Philippine arts and culture, and support for the friendship between the Philippines and China as well as the FFCCCII's civic causes.
The event was hosted at the Kamuning Bakery Cafe's Pandesal Forum in Quezon City, organized by the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), and featured special guests Mayor Mike Rama of Cebu City and China Ambassador Huang Xilian.
FFCCCII was led by President Dr. Henry Lim Bon Liong, Vice-Pres. Cecilio Pedro, Vice-Pres. & Adviser of FFCCCII Public Information Committee Jeffrey Ng, and FFCCCII Public Information Committee Chairman Wilson Lee Flores. Amb. Huang was accompanied by China Embassy diplomats led by Counsellor Ji Lingpeng. Also present at the awarding were Association for Philippines China Understanding (APCU) Executive Vice-President Peter Laviña, FFCCCII Public Information Committee vice-chairmen Dr. Lily Lim, Wanzen David & Calixto Sy.
The FFCCCII Lifetime Award for musician Jose Mari Chan has been presented in the form of a large Plaque of Honor and a unique Medallion.

Additionally, Dr. Lim stated that in recognition of Jose Mari Chan's significant contributions to Philippine arts and culture, FFCCCII had formally written to the NCCA endorsing and nominating him as a National Artist.
During the occasion, Ambassador uang Xilian expressed his gratitude to Jose Mari Chan for performing at the FFCCCII-hosted Philippines-China Friendship Day celebration on June 9, 2022, in favor of increased intercultural understanding and collaboration. The festive song "#Christmas in our Hearts" by Jose Mari Chan, according to Ambassador Huang, is one of his favorites.
Mike Rama, the mayor of Cebu City, announced that Chan is the group's nominee for National Artist. Jose Mari Chan is well-liked in Cebu.
